In partnership with Fresno Unified School District, CART teachers have developed hands-on activities for incoming 6th-9th grade students. We hope you enjoy the variety of experiences we've designed just for you. Our camps will be available all summer to work through at your own pace. While many of our camps will be available starting June 15th, check back on June 22nd for Science of Illusions and again on July 6th for our Paper Aircraft and Tinkercad Circuits camps. Go to CampBring your imagination and creativity in this easy to learn course. You will use the free Adobe app, Spark Video, to create digital stories to share with your family and friends. You will learn how to use the Spark Video app, as well as basic videography techniques, voice-over, and editing. To participate, you will use a digital camera from a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Get ready to tell some stories!
Go to CampThe future starts here! Robots are becoming integral parts of day-to-day life, and the people who understand how they work are the problem-solvers of tomorrow. In this online experience, you'll work within a web-based framework to learn to program a simulated robot, Root. No matter what level of confidence you have at the start, by day five you'll be using scripting to automate a 'bot via a variety of sensors.

Join us for CART Kitchen Science and find out the answers to these and many more kitchen questions! Several experiments will be provided and demonstrated that you can do at home in your own kitchen with simple ingredients you have on hand! This camp will also teach you fun cooking tricks such as making your own ice cream, butter, and cheese! It will be fun, educational, and delicious!

This camp is all about designing, building, testing and revising several different forms of aircraft constructed from standard paper. You'll investigate the basic principles of flight for each form of aircraft, to learn what to design toward. Then, you'll get a chance to make the best aircraft you can, and the opportunity to try new types of paper flight!

Illusion confusion…in this camp you will learn how to create illusions that can be used to astonish your friends and family! Students will learn the basic anatomy and physiology behind some of the most popular illusions, including how the eyes and the brain work together to perceive the world.
Go to CampInterested in turning your ideas into models to share with your friends? Want to get started on the road to being a maker, designer, or engineer? CAD it! This experience will introduce you to Tinkercad, a program for 3D - modeling designs that drive the world of invention and manufacturing. In three days, you'll start to pick up the skills and ideas which will lead to countless opportunities in the future!
Go to CampStarts July 13th. It's electric! If you plan on using devices powered by electricity in your future (hint: you do), you should know more about how they work! In just a few days, you'll learn to use an online interface to design, test, and troubleshoot some of the circuits that are powering and operating the world around you. If you think you might like to work with electronics in the future, this is a great place to start!
